Proven Success: 90%
grade improvement;
75% higher test scores

After nearly a decade of tutoring experience, I have developed strategies that translate directly to grade improvement, but also provide students with the skills for long-term success. By focusing on those areas that help a student to better comprehend the curriculum, we are able to improve learning across the board, giving them both the knowledge and the ability to perform better on homework, classwork, quizzes and exams.

Customization: Individualized Learning Plans are Designed Specifically to Meet Student Needs
Adaptability: Different Students Require Different Educational Approaches

Crucial to the success of a learning plan is its adaptability to student needs, especially when using online platforms. This means paying attention to both strengths and difficulties to support student growth and aptitude, and it takes an experienced tutor to recognize these pathways to success. Adaptability means guided learning, and only in one-on-one tutoring do you have the time and wherewithal for that level of precision.

Customization, like adaptability, means that curriculum is designed for each individual student. Learning plans are goal oriented, and every focus is meant to improve a student's learning through knowledge, confidence, and more effective study skills. For the student, this means that every short-term goal is serving the long-term goal of continuing success in education. It takes an experienced tutor to know the difference between homework help and long-term educational support, and EJM Tutoring has made this a priority.

Not only do tutors help students learn, but they also help them to learn better on their own. This development of effective study skills can be even more important than learning the material because it will help a student become more independent and confident in their schoolwork, especially when it comes time for testing. Study skills, or "Executive Skills," as we call them, are the tools a student uses to face challenges on their own, and a good set of tools can reduce anxiety when difficulties arise, whether at home or in the classroom.

ADHD and Education: Tailor-made Strategies

"The advantage of regular one-on-one sessions with students is something that is for the most part absent from the classroom setting, especially the large classroom setting. And for the ADHD child, this difference is crucial."
